Welcome to the Center for the Humanities Library!

Overview

The Center for the Humanities Library currently houses collections of fiction, poetry, and criticism, with a special focus on international and faculty authors. In the near future, we will be expanding our collection of faculty authors and building a collection of children's literature. Adjacent to the stacks is a reading room, as well as a small meeting room, which is available by reservation.

Borrowing Privileges

We welcome all of the St. Louis community to browse our holdings or take advantage of our facilities, but only students, faculty, and staff of Washington University with valid IDs will be allowed to check out books. New patrons must register at the library in order to obtain borrowing privileges. All loans are for one (1) month.

Renewals

Books that have not been requested by another borrower may be renewed by email or in-person at our office.

Overdue Books and Fines

Daily fines for all overdue books are 10 cents/day.

Lost Book Policy

Borrowers who have lost the books on loan will be charged the current price of the title plus any incidental fees in procuring the book.
